Commercial Projects in Ontario

Durham Region Transit Electric Bus Infrastructure

One of our commercial clients that I am very proud of is Durham Region Transit. We were/are the civil contractor responsible for installing the infrastructure for their electric buses. This project required us to trench for the power connection from Oshawa Power, build concrete duct banks, and pour 4-foot-deep concrete foundation pads for the transformers, switchgear, chargers, and other equipment required to power their current fleet of six electric buses, with capacity for many more.

We also installed underground electrical vaults. Additionally, we installed the power connections for the future administration building for Durham Transit. After completing the installations, we remediated the entire disturbed area with new paving, curbs, and sod. All of this was done while daily operations were ongoing, with no interruptions to their activities. We completed this exact same project, but on a smaller scale, for Oakville Transit, and have also done similar work for Milton Transit.

Durham just happens to be the largest project so far.

Town of Whitby 2.7 km Paved Walking Path

Another commercial client I am very proud of is a contract we secured with the Town of Whitby to construct a 2.7 km paved walking path. This project includes retaining walls, benches, and the planting of roughly 1,000 trees and shrubs through a greenbelt area. It is very important that we remain conscious of the potential environmental impacts.

We plan to complete this project by the spring of 2025.
